Welcome To The Boundary County Historical Society

Boundary County Museum Closure

The Board of Trustees of the Boundary County Historical Society and Museum just concluded the monthly meeting of the Society. With much discussion and consideration for the Museum’s patrons, and for the health and safety of the volunteers and staff, it has been decided to close the Museum to the public until further notice.

When in downtown Bonners Ferry, visit the Museum to see original artifacts, period rooms, exhibits, and displays designed to present the history of North Idaho and the indigenous Kootenai people.

“The purpose of the Boundary County Historical Society shall be to bring together persons interested in the history of Boundary County; to promote further interest in the heritage of this area; to gather information, objects, and materials relative to its history and development; and to carry on educational programs concerning this region.
The Society will manage and operate any real or personal property in the form of a public museum.”
