This Week In History – 100 years Ago ~ “The Great Northern Railway Company this week will move the section house near the local depot, and as soon as the lots are cleared work will begin on the Bonners Ferry and Milling Company’s new mill plant and grain elevator, according to manager Ralph Clapp.”

The Bonners Ferry Grain and Milling Co. was built by Ralph Clapp in 1925. Other parts such as the flat-house were built later. T.E. Lavin owned it after Clapp; and in 1935, turned over management to the Boyd-Conlee Co. with Walt Casey as manager. In 1948, Boundary Grain bought Boyd-Conlee from Walt Casey for $200,000. Later it was renamed Kootenai Grain. The elevator was torn down in 2010.
