George Felch married Bertha Smith in 1896 in Vermont. They moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho in 1908. Mr. and Mrs. Felch filed upon a homestead along the Moyie River (Felch’s Hole) in the Meadow Creek district in 1912. The homestead remained the family home until their deaths. Bertha passed away in 1941 and George in 1942.
Their son, Myrl was sixteen when they moved to the homestead. He served in World War I and later married Agnes Shively. They lived in Walla Walla for a few years, returning the Bonners Ferry after his parents’ deaths. He was the proprietor of the Commercial Hotel in the 1940s and 1950s. Myrl served as Mayor of Bonners Ferry, Idaho in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
Myrl Felch received this bill from the Grandview Cemetery Association on March 3, 1951. It was a bill for $2.00 from the “caretaker” who had done some upkeep on half of lot #618, where his parents had been laid to rest ten years earlier.
