At the Annual Meeting of the Historical Society, there will be an election for two trustee positions, 3-year terms

The meeting will include a review of the museum’s annual financial report, proposed 2026 budget, reports on museum activities during the past year, and any other business that may come before the membership.

Boundary County Historical Society’s Annual Meeting Notice
According to the Society Bylaws, the Annual Meeting is to be held in the month of January.
The 2025 Annual Meeting will be held January 12, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in Portrait Hall.

* Membership in 2025 – 111 members; Membership for 2026 (to date) – 93 members
* Membership Dues collected in 2025 – $5,170.00

* Support from Boundary County Commissioners and Glenda Poston, County Clerk
* Fundraising Dinner/Auction; 2025 Historical Calendar; Small Towns, Big Dreams (922 books have moved out of the building); Gift Shop

* Free Saturdays, sponsored by Friends of the Museum – May – October
* Memorial Free Saturday in honor of Historian Howard Kent – featured in November
* Fiber Fest – Demonstrations of spinning, weaving, knitting, etc.; 58 attendees
* Idaho Day – “Exploring Boundary County”- archaeological dig lesson, art activity and “Idaho” cookie
* School Tours – Fourth grades – Faces of History (reproduced edition); scavenger hunt
* Historic Cemetery Tour- “Cemetery on the Hill” part 3 – 21 attendees; admission donated to the Grandview Cemetery Association; porta potty provided by KG&T
* Howe Farms, Inc. – Idaho Century Award
* A Night for the Museum – “Mighty River”- theme dinner catered by The Rusty Moose; games and activities; live and silent auction – Jeff Sater, auctioneer
* Story of Edward L. Bonner – slide show and map lesson for fourth grade students
* Randy’L Teton – Native American Heritage Month presentation with slide show featuring Sacajawea

Looking Ahead to 2026… America 250 ID celebration: exhibit to be displayed June-July for the Semiquincentennial.
We look forward to greeting new and returning visitors and tour groups; providing historical and educational programs; having all around good fun at the Museum. Hours: Thurs.- Sat. 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
